Autumn will bring year 6 lots
of new responsibilities; our Head boy, Head girl and House
Captains are all drawn from this year group. We also appoint
ICT monitors and Librarians from Year 6. We also have the responsibility for
administering the polling day for the school council.
In lesson time the children have already been working on
developing their creative writing skills, and we are reading ‘James
and the Giant peach’ by Roald Dahl as a class read.
The children are already enthralled with this book and enjoy
taking it home.
Spring term allows us to develop those skills even further
as we build up to Easter time. The children enjoy lots of
competitions between our two houses: Constable and Munnings.
We also look forward to further sporting links with other
schools. This has included playing as part of a football
league (which Dedham Primary won last season).
Summer term brings the busiest time upon us as we look
forward to S.A.T.s. However, as a counterpoint to that, we
also look forward to a Summer production in Key Stage 2.
Last year’s production was called the Operatunists
and was a great success. The year 6 take the main acting
parts and the other key stage 2 children form the chorus.
In addition we will also be taking trips out into the local
area, as well as further a field.

and then extended the picture onto it.
