The Crafty Sew ‘n’ Sews

In association with Dedham Primary School, The Crafty Sew ‘n’ Sews was formed in 2003 and was the brainchild of a Year 6 parent who recognized various talents and, more importantly, the keenness of parents to support the many creative activities carried out within the school, both on a curricular basis and at the two major fundraising events which the school organizes annually: their Strawberry Fayre and “The Dedham Dickensian Market”.

The Crafty Sew ‘n’ Sews had their own stall at 2004’s Dickensian Market, selling a wide range of handcrafted gifts; these included garlands, Christmas tree decorations, notice boards, hobby horses and more. It proved to be a huge success, raising over £100 for school funds.

The Crafty Sew ‘n’ Sews consists of friendly, have-a-go people, who would warmly welcome new faces to a current group of approximately ten people. At present, they meet at a parent’s house, but the venue may have to change when numbers increase.

Above all, there are absolutely no qualifications required to join The Crafty Sew ‘n’ Sews, simply keenness to have a go and support Dedham Primary School.

Contact telephone numbers can be obtained from the school.
