WELCOME TO DEDHAM CHURCH OF ENGLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL
Dedham Primary School is a Voluntary Controlled Church of England school currently of about 210 pupils. The school is situated in a very pleasant, quiet location, within walking distance of the church and village. The grounds of the school, including two hard play areas, are extensive and this gives plenty of space for sports and play.
There is a very close partnership between the school, governors, parents and the wider community and this is at the heart of the success of the school over recent years. We are proud to have 'Life-long love of learning' as our school vision.
Our school mission statement:
Dedham Church of England Primary School is a welcoming community where children are supported, through a wide range of opportunities, to develop the skills and character needed to prepare them for a successful future.
We believe that the following values are essential in developing strong and successful young people:
Confidence & Perseverance
Honesty & Forgiveness
Appreciation & Gratitude
Friendship & Teamwork
Respect & Responsibility
Compassion & Service
These values underpin our collective acts of worship throughout the school year and are explored through a predominantly Christian context using references to the bible and key Christian festivals. Children go to the church for services at various times of the year and the vicar comes to school to take assemblies, which the children enjoy. Pupils have the opportunity to visit major religious sites thanks to the generosity of The William Burkitt Trust and they gain an understanding of the multicultural society we live in through our links with Elizabeth Selby Infant School in London and Gatunduri Primary School in Kenya.
