Lifelong love of learning

WELCOME TO DEDHAM CHURCH OF ENGLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL

Dedham Primary School is a Voluntary Controlled Church of England school currently of about 200 pupils.

The school is situated in a very pleasant, quiet location, within walking distance of the church and village. The grounds of the school, including two hard play areas, are extensive and this gives plenty of space for sports and play.

There is a very close partnership between the school, governors, parents and the wider community and this is at the heart of the success of the school over recent years. We are proud to have, "To Nurture a life-long love of learning" as our mission statement.

We believe that Christian Values should be used as a basis for living our lives and have selected six values that underpin our collective acts of worship throughout the school year.  These are: Wisdom, Empathy, Worthiness, Inclusion, Spirituality and Honesty.  They are remembered by the phrase: WE WISH. Children go to the church for services at various times of the year and the vicar comes to school to take assemblies, which the children enjoy. Pupils have the opportunity to visit major religious sites thanks to the generosity of The William Burkitt Trust and they gain an understanding of the multicultural society we live in through our links with Elizabeth Selby Infant School in London and Gatunduri Primary School in Kenya.

You are very welcome to browse our website, within which you can find out more about our school, see some of the work produced by our pupils both in class and after-school and catch up with our latest news. Please enjoy your visit and if you have any questions or comments - get in touch!
